Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Sheikh Zayed grand Mosque, towering over the city, stands as the largest mosque in the UAE.

Accommodating up to 40,000 worshippers and drawing huge crowds during festive occasions like Eid.
Constructed between 1996 and 2007, this magnificent mosque was envisioned by the late UAE president, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, showcasing a blend of Persian, Mughal, and Moorish architectural styles through the use of marble, gold, semiprecious stones, and crystals.
The main prayer hall boasts an enormous carpet that spans the entire floor, making it the largest carpet in the world. This magnificent carpet, crafted in Iran, measures over 5,000 square meters (53,819 square feet) and weighs a staggering 35 tonnes. It is adorned with an impressive 2.26 million knots, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship that went into its creation.
The grand Prayer Hall Chandelier hangs elegantly above the prayer hall’s center, standing as the largest among the mosque’s seven impressive chandeliers. Originating from Germany, this chandelier ranks as the third largest globally, spanning approximately 10 meters (33 feet) wide and 15 meters (49 feet) high. Crafted with over a million Swarovski crystals, it shines brilliantly, adding a touch of luxury to the sacred space.
