Oman is a vibrant and diverse nation filled with proud and patriotic folks. Its landscape varies dramatically, from the rugged mountains of Ruus al Jibal in the north to the unique climate of Dhofar, which brings lush greenery during the monsoon season.
Community
Oman is all about its diverse community, and the folks there are known for their warm-heartedness, love for their country, and commitment to everything they take on. The national outfit is the Dishdasha, which is a straightforward, ankle-length gown without a collar, featuring long sleeves. It’s paired with either a Mussar or Kummah headdress. For special events, they often sport the Khanjar, Oman’s traditional dagger, which is also a key part of the Royal Air Force of Oman’s emblem.
Geography
Oman is divided into six unique geographical areas, reaching from the Straits of Hormuz in the north all the way down to its southern border with Yemen in the Dhofar Region. On the coast, it’s flanked by the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Inland, it borders the vast Empty Quarter of Saudi Arabia. The weather here is usually hot and dry, with summer kicking off in April and sticking around until October.
The Dhofar region gets a lot more rain during its monsoon season, which runs from June to September.
